Most of us would like to increase revenue from customers. Raising rates is one method, an approach that can backfire in today’s competitive marketplace.
The other approach is to look for related services you can charge for. Moses said, "The Lord your God spoke to us . . . saying, 'You have stayed long enough at this mountain, turn and set your journey.'" (Deuteronomy 1:6-7a, NASB). Often we get caught up in doing the same work, the same way.
Consider several examples. A landscape maintenance business offered to clean outdoor patios and grill areas for a small add-on charge. This created additional income when customers took advantage of the service.
A shoeshine business has been one of the simplest and oldest businesses. Some now offer to polish and clean briefcases and handbags to increase income. Also, many now clean tennis shoes.
Your local UPS Store started as a shipping drop-off, a mailbox rental, and a place to make copies. Now they are full-fledged printers.
Look at your business and find ways you can offer more to your customers to increase your revenue and grow your business.
