A Consistent Game Plan

Many managers and business owners are good at reacting to whatever events arise in a given day, but the best managers anticipate and proactively plan for the future.

If you're getting tossed around today, take a few moments and find a permanent solution to calm the water.
Paul wrote, "We are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by every wind" (Ephesians 4:14 NASB).

One tactic is to determine each month the three biggest issues you need to resolve, and write them down. Some may be resolved that month, others may be part of long-term projects.

Next, determine action steps you will accomplish that month. Measure your progress, if you get stalled, step back and figure out how to get unstuck, and then move. None of us can focus on everything, all the time.

Yes, customers will call, and fires break out at times. We may even need to fight those fires. However, as we also stay focused on the three key objectives each month, we will make progress. As each one gets done, add another.

You may believe you don't have time, but the time you take will provide dividends in the future.

Your efforts to calm the water will strengthen your business
