Validate Key Items on Your Website

The beginning of a New Year is a good time to verify a number of housekeeping items on your website.  It’s like changing the batteries in your smoke detector.  If you don’t do this twice a year the smoke detector may fail without your knowledge when needed most.

Location, Lifestyle and a Franchise

I grew up in Detroit and never gave a lot of thought to moving for a number of years. I had a good corporate position, shopped at the same meat market my grandmother did and was the fifth-generation living in the Detroit area. I don’t think I would have moved except that my wife had severe allergies and her doctor told us we needed to move to a climate like Arizona. For that reason I resigned my corporate position and made the move.

When Buyers and Sellers are in Conflict

I’m working with a person who is seriously considering buying an income tax preparation business. The seller is taking a job out of town. While they may be able to place a manager in charge of the business, the business would be better served if sold before next year’s tax season.  Given that we’re at the start of October, time is short to finalize a transaction, do a simple financial review, and close so the new owner has time to organize for the 2017 tax year.
